The Cow Jumped Over the Egg

We came up with this breakfast after reading Mother Goose stories one night. We used 2 pieces of toast, 1 egg, a few grapes,1 banana, white and strawberry cream cheese. We toasted the bread and cut out the cow body. We cut the head, utter, and a couple of legs out of the other piece of toast. We spread the white cream cheese on first and then the strawberry for the nose and utter. We beat 1 egg and spread it out in the pan. We cut it out in the shape of a moon. We cut up a few grapes for spots on the cow and the face on the moon. We used 1 banana and sliced it. We cut stars out of the slices. It turned out really cute!

Batman Burgers!

We came up with these easy Batman burgers that will definitely put a smile on any little boys face! We used Morning Star burgers, american cheese, provolone cheese, and barbecue sauce.

For Batman...cut the top off of the burger in the shape of ears and on the sides to shape his face after the burger is cooked. Place the provolone cheese up almost half way and cut around the bottom to fit. Cut out some of the scrap cheese for eyes and cut a slit for the mouth. Squeeze out some barbecue sauce on the top bun to make the cape.

Cut out the Batman logo from the american cheese and just place that cut out on the top bun. Trim around the sides of the burger.

Clementine Chicks

This is something fun and very easy to do with a clementine (we like Cuties). Just pop off the peel and cut out the feet, hair, and beak with kitchen scissors. We happened to have edible eye balls and used those. You don't have to use anything for them to stick..just press them on. You could also just cut off a piece of a marshmallow and cut up a raisin for the eyes as well!

Here are 2 of my boys with a friend and their Clementine Chics!

We spread out our pancake mix in the pan and then just cut out a clock shape with kitchen scissors. We did the same for the 2 beaten eggs. Cut out the other details from the eggs. We cut the dials, mouse tales, and ears out of bacon. Cut the strawberry in half for the mice. we used a little pieces of the left over egg for the eyes.

Let's go fly a PB&J!

This is a cute idea that my 4 yr old had using 1 slice of bread, pb&j, 1 banana, 1 strawberry, 1 raisin, pretzel sticks, and vanilla yogurt.

We cut the bread in a shape of a kite. We rotated peanut butter and jelly for the stripes. We sliced 1 piece off the end of the banana to make a face. We sliced the rest of the banana long ways to make the string for the kite. We cut 3 pieces off of a strawberry for the bows. We put the banana face connecting to pretzel sticks for the body. We cut the raisin for the eyes and face. We also used a piece of the banana peel for the hair. The clouds are the yogurt. You could really use anything for this one!

Love Bug Cupcakes

We came up with these love lady bug cupcakes for my 4 yr old's pre-school class party. We frosted them with white frosting and added red sprinkles on top. The faces are a chocolate cookie and we just used cookie decorating frosting to add the details the the face and back. The spots are chocolate chips that we just pressed into the frosting. The antennas are tootsie rolls that we heated in the microwave for 5 sec and cut into three pieces. We rolled the pieces into sticks and put a dot of frosting on the end. We also added little valentine candy heart for the eyes and on the end of the antenna. They hold up well for traveling and the kids loved them!!

Dane's Ant Birthday Cake

My 4 yr old wanted a bug party and he really wanted a giant ant cake. This is what we came up with. I used a couple of ball cake pans for the ant. I used a 2 8 in. round cake pans and layered those. I cut the edges to make the hill. I crushed up regular graham crackers for the ant hill dirt...then crushed up chocolate graham crackers to put on top of chocolate frosting for the other dirt. Piped on the green grass and the little ants are tootsie rolls that I put in the microwave 5 sec. to shape. The legs are black twizzlers attached by chocolate frosting. It ended up turning out pretty cute. The kids loved it!

We made these little frogs out of green apples and grapes. Just slice the apple in half and core. Cut 3 grapes in half for each frog and cut slits out for the feet. We cut a strawberry for the tongue. Cut a large marshmallow in half and put a chocolate chip on the sticky part for the eyes. You could also use a raisin. I attached these with a toothpick broken in half. Very quick and cute!

Sloppy UFO's

We made these sloppy UFO's with grape aliens. Turned out pretty cute. You could really use anything that you have for this.

We used carrots, celery, grapes, and peas.

We sliced a few baby carrots and attached those to slices of celery. We used the other sliced celery for the legs and antenna on the alien. We cut the bottoms off of the grapes for them to stand up. I had edible eyes so we just gave them one eye with those. You could use anything for that..even cream cheese and a piece of a raisin. We put peas on the ends of the antenna and arms. You can just make a little whole in the bun and push in the peas on the ship. Very easy and it's a good way to get your kids to eat their peas and carrots!

Hungry Little Egg Birds

This is a great way to get a kid to eat a big salad! We just used what we had. I cut up Morning Star chicken patties that are shown on top of the nest. I cut carrots and cucumbers in sticks. I cut the boiled egg in half to make 2 baby birds. The beak is from a carrot and the eyes are from a cucumber. I attached them with cream cheese, but salad dressing would work. The branch is croutons and the stems are from the cucumber. You could also use celery. The kids really liked this one and ate it all!

BEEliscious Pancakes!

We made these bee and honey pot pancakes this morning. We were limited on time so we cut out pre-made pancakes and pieced them together. We used the pancakes, bananas, apple butter, and honey nut Cheerios. We sliced the banana long ways to get the wings and letters.

PB&B Airplane Lunch

This is our airplane peanut butter and banana dog. Separate the bun. Spread both sides with peanut butter. Cut off the ends of a banana for the top and then slice the banana. Use I slice to put inside the hot dog bun... 2 slices for the wings.. and the rest for clouds and windows. We sliced a clementine for the sun. It pops right out and takes not time at all!

Sponge Bob and Patrick Pancakes and Eggs

My boys wanted to have a Sponge Bob and Patrick breakfast this morning. They both came up with these pancakes and eggs. I think they did a pretty good job with their ideas and creations! It's a little more time consuming, but it was worth it for the fun that they had making it.

We used 1 hard boiled egg..two beaten eggs...shaped pancakes...strawberries...raisins...and some green decorating spray that we had.

We shaped our pancakes in the pan. Trimmed off the edges with kitchen scissors. Make Patrick and the shorts as well. Beat 2 eggs and put it in a rectangle dish....or just put one egg in a square dish. We cut the rectangle in half. We microwaved ours for 1 min. We cut off the sides to have some legs for Spongebob. Slice half of the hard boiled egg for the eyes. Use the other half for the strip above Spongebob's shorts and teeth. We used 5 strawberries and blended it with a dash a whipping cream to make a dark pink color for Patrick. Use the scraps to make a tie for Spongebob. Use one extra sliced strawberry for the mouth. Cut raisins for eyes, lashes, eye brows, feet, and belly buttons. We sprayed Patrick's shorts with green decorating spray that we happened to have.

My 4 yr old did the black plate and my 7 yr old did the white plate. Good job boys!

Grilled Cheese Lion

This Lion Lunch is something we came up the other day and it's a quick and easy lunch to make the kids. It's so easy that the kids can even make this themselves!  Cut the bread in a circle and save the crusts. Make the grilled cheese. Cut out the crust to make nose, mouth, and eyes. Use extra cheese to cut out for the eyes as well. Slip Doritos inside/under and around the sandwich for the hair.

Phineas and Ferb cakes

My boys absolutely love Phineas and Ferb and wanted me to make some Phineas and Ferb fun food. I had some extra pound cake (Sara Lee) so we cut their faces out of that using a knife. You can't get any easier than a triangle face! We made the eyes and mouth using chocolate and white cookie frosting. The hair is gum drops that we just rolled out and cut with kitchen scissors. You could also use fruit roll ups or put a Starburst in the microwave for 3-5 seconds and flatten that out.

My 4 year old came up with these pancake for breakfast this morning. Shape pancake like a ship in the pan. Cut out flags with kitchen scissors. Spider Man Burgers

This is fun to do for little boys! We made some Spider Man burgers using ketchup for the face and piped on barbecue sauce for the web. We cut white cheese for the eyes.

Leprechaun lunch

What a great way to get a picky 4 year old to eat lots of carrots on this St. Patrick's Day! He wanted peanut butter and jelly so I just tinted apple jelly with a drop of green food coloring. I put it on the outside and the peanut butter inside. I used celery, carrot, and marshmallows on the hat. I took a mini marshmallow and cut it in half. Took a snip out of the top and shaped into a heart to make the clover. I cut the carrots on the beard in half...I didn't want to over load him! A celery nose and raisins on the eyes. I used a twizzler strip for the mouth. Use kitchen scissors to cut the hat out of the bread. It's quick and easy!

St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes

We came up with 4 different St. Patrick's Day cupcakes this year. I made them for the boys classes. We made a BUNCH of them!

The one with the hat is made with some extra fondant that I had.

I tried to go with a pot of gold look. I cut up yellow gum drops for the gold. It's frosted with chocolate frosting and I piped on the clouds with white frosting. The rainbow is sour airheads.

I just used some Lucky Charms cereal marshmallows on the white ones. I only used shamrocks...rainbows..and horse shoes.

For the shamrock cupcakes I rolled out green gum drops and cut them out with a shamrock cookie cutter. I also cut out a green fruit roll to put under it to brighten it up.

Shamrock Pizza

I had a pizza about to put in the oven and I thought hey..why not make shamrocks out of our turkey pepperoni since it's the week of St. Patrick's day. I just took a very small heart shaped cookie cutter and cut three of those. I used the scraps for the stem. Turned out pretty cute!

Monkey Bagels

My boys just loved these cute little monkeys with his banana. We used a half of a bagel for the head and cut the top part off half of a english muffin. I used those scraps for the ears. Covered the head in peanut butter. The nose and ears are topped with apple butter. Used raisins for the eyes and nostrils. We used a strawberry slice for the mouth.

Pizza House

This is just a fun little house we made with pizza and spinach leaves. The sun is cheese.

Whale P B & J

My 4 year old wanted a whale sandwich so this is it. His favorite is peanut butter and jelly so I just put the jelly on the outside to make the whale darker. They had blue Trix yogurt in the fridge so I used that. You could always just add a drop of blue food coloring. Gold fish crackers and a cheese sun. The eye and mouth is from a small marshmallow. This is actually very quick to make. I always use kitchen scissors to cut anything out. It really speeds things up!

Perry The Platypus Twinkies

I actually saw a cake similar to this and decided to go with a smaller twinkie instead. I am new to fondant and only had a very small picture on a valentines candy box to go by. However..the boys did approve.
I seems crazy to add more sugar to a Twinkie, but they are cute!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Burgers

This is a good way to get a little boy to eat lettuce on his burger! I think we actually used morning star chicken patties for this one and I just cut the lettuce to size. Squeeze ketchup across for mask and cut out eyes and mouth with cheese.

Speedster Sub

We came up with this turkey and cheese speedster sandwich. As long as you have sub can get creative with whatever you have in the kitchen. I used a pretzel stick for his body and pulled off a strip of a cheese stick for his arms. Half of a cherry tomato for his helmet. I put the cucumbers in with toothpicks for the steering wheel and tires. The boys loved this one!

Lucky Rainbow Pancakes with a Pot of Golden Eggs

Here are some St. Patrick's day pancakes and eggs I made for the boys. I just used the fruit that I had in the house. I microwaved the egg in a small bowl. You could also have sliced bananas for the pot of gold. Whipped cream would make a great cloud as well!
