I put a watermelon in our cart at the grocery store and asked my boys what we could make out of it. We love making fun creations with watermelon and have made a ton of them. My 10 year old suggested making a Marvin the Martian Watermelon and I thought that was a fantastic idea! So…here he is! We had so much fun making this and it’s so easy to do!

How To Make Marvin The Martian From a Watermelon
- Start out by cutting a small piece from the bottom of your watermelon so it will stand up straight.
- Cut that piece in half and cut around the edges to make the sides of the helmet.
- Cut a strip on the top and then pull it off. Secure it back on with toothpicks so it’s sticking out. Cut the dark grapes in half and press on the front.
- Cut a piece off of the back of the watermelon and then cut that piece in half. Cut the watermelon off so the white part is showing.
- Then cut around the edges to look like eyes. Use toothpicks to press the eyes on the front. We cut a dark grape in half for the pupils.
- We pressed in a skewer for the top and attached a watermelon scrap piece on top. Lay pineapple slices on top.
