Flower Garden Cake

My mom had a birthday this past weekend and my boys insisted that we make her sweet flowers since she loves flowers. So, that’s just what we did! This Flower Box Garden Cake is very easy to make! Also a great cake for the kids to help decorate all by themselves.

Flower Garden Cake

1 Cake Mix
Chocolate Frosting
Pepperidge Farm Pirouette Cookies
Crushed Oreo Cookies
Mini White Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Wilton Candies
Green Sticks
White and Chocolate Cookie Icing
Chocolate Jimmies

Start out by making any cake mix in a loaf pan. We also made a few cupcakes with some of the extra. Bake according to directions. Frost with chocolate frosting. Cut the Pepperidge Farm cookies in half and press them around the sides. Top the cake with crushed Oreo’s.

For the flowers we used mini Reese’s cups. We squeezed a little icing around the edges on the top & then attached on our candies. You could also use M&M’s for this. Let that dry & then poke in your stick. We then pushed them in another Reese’s mini cup so they would stand up straight. Dig little holes in the cake (the kids will love this part) & then top with some more frosting. It’s like your are planting real flowers!:)

We added chocolate icing and chocolate jimmies on the yellow ones to make them look like sunflowers. Super easy to make & it turned out so cute!

My mom loved it. Happy Birthday Mom…we love you!

  1. I would like to make this for my granddaughter’s upcoming birthday. I have a question: You list Wilton Candies as the flowers/petals. I am unable to locate anything other than Wilton’s Almonds. Their website does not show any other ready-made candies or even the molds to make the various colored petals. I may resort to the pastel M&Ms but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Yes…pastel M&M’s would work. There are so many different Spring candies in the crafts stores that you might want to check out. Thanks.

    1. She was pretty shocked & so happy to get a cake. This is the first year she has lived in the same city as us so I am sure she hasn't had a cake for her bday in years. Thanks Kim!
